Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Sundial (“the app”) is a personal diary app published by TimeGround (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: Sundial does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data.
What we collect
Nothing. Sundial has no user accounts and requires no sign-up. To write and read your diary, the app does not request internet access and does not send your entries anywhere.
Where your data lives
Everything you create — your diary entries, moods, and app settings such as your chosen theme — is stored locally on your device in the app’s private storage. It is not uploaded to any TimeGround server and is not accessible to us or to any third party.
Backup & export
You can export your diary to a backup file and restore it later, entirely under your control — the file goes wherever you choose to save it. In addition, if you have enabled Android’s system backup (Auto Backup / Google One) on your device, the operating system may include Sundial’s local data in your own encrypted device backup, the same way it does for other apps. This is a feature of Android that you control in your device settings; it is not data collected or accessed by TimeGround. You can disable it in your device’s backup settings.
Optional cloud sync (future updates)
A future version of Sundial may offer an optional “sign in with Google” sync. If and when you choose to enable it, your entries would be synced to your own private Google Drive storage — not to any TimeGround server. It will always be opt-in, and this policy will be updated with details before the feature ships.
Biometric / device lock
If you enable the optional App Lock, Sundial uses your device’s built-in authentication (fingerprint, face, or screen PIN) through the standard Android system prompt. Sundial never sees, receives, or stores your biometric data — authentication is handled entirely by Android.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
Sundial contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Children’s privacy
Sundial does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
You can delete any entry within the app at any time. Uninstalling Sundial permanently removes all of its data from your device.
Security
Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device’s own protections. We recommend enabling a screen lock and the in-app App Lock. If you believe you’ve found a security issue, please contact security@timeground.in.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
